Nevada Elementary School’s staff, parents and community are devoted to the personal, social, physical growth as well as intellectual growth of the students. We are committed to educating all students so that they have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be effective communicators and complex thinkers. Our highly qualified staff rigorously challenges our students and sees the value of professional development. Here at Nevada we foster and encourage high expectations to get our students ready for the world.

Dual Language

Nevada Elementary is one of eight sites in LAUSD that is implementing a 50/50 Dual Language program. Our teachers follow these three principles: (1) Establish a strong foundation for DLLs while preventing long term English Learners, (2) Create a 21st century vision of learning and (3) Provide high quality programs through research-based teaching practices. Each of these principles are built in conjunction with growth and development of the whole-child.

Special Education

Special Education

Nevada Elementary is dedicated to providing a positive and supportive learning environment in our academic programs that is focused on student success. The Special Education Department provides oversight and guidance for Special Education and assists students, teachers, and families in identifying resources to support student success. Students who are eligible to receive support and services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are provided with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
